Maro Psyrra began the doctoral program at the University of Ioannina in the fall of 2012. She is interested in 20th-century new media art and post-war visual culture. She received her B.A. in art history from the Department of Plastic Arts and Art Sciences in 2005 and her M.A. in the History of Art from the Faculty of History and Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – History of Art Department in 2009. She is collaborating with various cultural organisations in Edinburgh as an independent curator.

She is also the Editor in Chief of Art plus Thought Magazine (UK) and a contributor writer for Expose Art Magazine (USA).  From 2008 until 2015 she worked at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, Greece, as an art historian and curator.

She is currently working at the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh (UK) and the Royal Scottish Academy (UK). She is a member of the ICOM and the Association of  Art Historians UK and has participated in numerous Greek and international conferences.
